Celebrating the women whose dedication makes our events possible.
Over the years, many remarkable women from the community have generously volunteered their time, energy, and talents to organize and bring “An Evening to Celebrate Women” to life. Their dedication behind the scenes ensures each event is memorable, meaningful, and a true celebration of women in our community.
The Milverton Women’s Initiative Committee (WIC) was formed in 2006 with one goal; to plan an entertaining evening that would bring together a couple hundred women to celebrate being a woman in our rural community. The concept was quickly embraced and since the event would be a fundraiser, the committee agreed to start a scholarship to help graduates of Milverton Public School, who had outstanding literacy and leadership skills, with their post-secondary education! The event would be called “An Evening to Celebrate International Women Day” and the inaugural bash was held on Friday, March 2, 2007 with 400 women in attendance!
The rest as they say “is history…”
